Storyline

In this made for Showtime television spoof of Madonna's Madonna: Truth or Dare (1991) documentary, comedienne Julie Brown portrays Medusa, an egocentric, hyper-sexual (and not particularly talented) pop star on an international five-day world tour, "The Blonde Leading the Blonde" show. Brown painstakingly duplicates costumes, sets and hairstyles while spoofing Madonna's seeming self-obsession. Madonna visits the cemetery where her mother is buried; Medusa visits the pet cemetery where her dog Buster is laid to rest. (Or is it "Boomer"?). Madonna performs fellatio on a bottle, at the dare of a friend; Medusa does it on a watermelon. And so on... Written by Anonymous

Trivia

There are three moments in the film that Madonna ended up doing for real later in her career. In the "Like a Video" Medusa kisses and writhes around in front of a television - Madonna did this in her "Take a Bow" video. At one point Medusa says: "Call me Mrs Birdseye. The show is frozen." Madonna recorded "Frozen" for her Ray of Light album. In the "Like a Prayer" parody sequence, the dancers have crucifixes on their backs. In Madonna's Confessions Tour, she is on stage on a crucifix. Quotes

Medusa: Hey, look, if he's dead then I'm gonna need a NEW boyfriend, right? You can't doodle with a dead noodle. Hah-hah!
Shane Pencil: Augh!
Medusa: Oh, no. There he goes! Actor man, off on another acting adventure: doo-doo-doo! He'll be back. Oh my God! Is that what Shakespeare looked like? He's a balding geek with a bad perm! I'm not doing this.

super!!
2 January 1999 | by pseudo-3See all my reviews

This movie was a riot, it pokes fun of "Madonna - Truth Or Dare" in all the right places. I love Madonna & I love Julie Brown. How could I ask for more..Julie's spoof of "Vogue", entitled "Vague" was hysterical.. "Kelly LeBrock thinks she's great, she's just cold boogers on a paper plate". "Brooke Shields, Dawber, Pam personality of Spam"!! I could've died! And just wait till you see what she can do with a watermelon!!
