Storyline

In the dark world of intelligence and espionage, all information is guarded in the name of national security. But some stories escape the fiercely guarded classified files, stories that become legends. This is one such story, a story that shook the very foundation of this dark world. In a government employees' neighbourhood in New Delhi, there lived a rugged, handsome and mysterious bachelor about whom his neighbours knew nothing. That was because he was India's top spy, an officer with the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India's external intelligence agency. This man was known even in official corridors as TIGER (Salman Khan). Tiger is sent on a relatively easy and safe mission to Dublin, Ireland to observe a scientist of Indian origin who is suspected of sharing his research findings with the Pakistan defence establishment. Tiger attempts to meet the scientist but is not successful. He tries to befriend the scientist's part time home caretaker, Zoya (Katrina Kaif). As Tiger begins... Written by Official source

Trivia

In her streak of working with the Khans, Katrina had one thing common in the two films opposite every Khan: "Ek Tha Tiger" and "Tiger Zinda Hai" belong to same franchise; "Dhoom 3" and "Thugs Of Hindostan" are both directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya; and "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" and "Zero" both also stars Anushka Sharma. Goofs

At 94:58, Gopi mentions that 623 and 612 flights departed from London and Frankfurt that day (pretty close to the respective daily averages), but then he proceeds to equate that to 825,802 passengers, which would equate about 688 passengers per flight, a long stretch given that the average capacity of a Boeing 757, which, even assuming all of those flights were Boeing 757-300s, is more than double the maximum capacity of 289 of a Boeing 757-300. Further, even assuming that particular day was a particularly abnormal day, and ignoring the film's own estimate of 623 takeoffs on the said day, the busiest day ever at Heathrow only saw a traffic of a total of 233,561 passengers (arriving + departing). Given that Frankfurt has the third largest passenger capacity in Europe behind Heathrow and Paris, the total number of passengers at both airports combined barely breaches the halfway mark of the 825,802 passengers quoted by Gopi in the movie. Further really stretching this, and even considering all airports in London (and not just Heathrow, ignoring the total 623 number of departures which is met by Heathrow alone), the average number of departing and arriving passengers in all London airports combined is still 366,102 leaving us with an average of 183,054 departing passengers from all London airports, which even assuming an equal number from Frankfurt, is again barely half the quoted number of 825,802 passengers. Not your typical Salman masala film, but it has a good plot (for a change) and is thoroughly international look.

The term well made is rarely used when it comes to Salman Khan movies, perhaps because his primary aim has always been to entertain, at pretty much any cost. However, this change is a welcome one! Hopefully he'll continue to select films with good scripts that do justice to his image.

Salman is all his fans would expect in this film, and more. He's multi-layered. This is perhaps the first time since Dabangg that his character development has been good and interesting.

Katrina has come forward in leaps and bounds. It's remarkable that, at first, she could speak Hindi very well at all, and now she's injecting personality into her characters quite effortlessly.

The supporting cast is good.Veteran Girish Karnad does well, as does Ranvir Shorey, who's quite brilliant (and very funny!) actually.

Loved the album. A few people said it could of been better but 2 tracks are amazing and one is good, so I'm not complaining.

Overall, it's a Hollywood-style action film with Indian elements such as a strong romance, but also nice additions like humour. Entertainment is what you want and it's what you get.

You may be persuaded into the Salman fan club after seeing this. I certainly was!
